Hydroponic towers or Aeroponic towers?

Before discussing parsley, let’s start this blog post by clarifying the difference between hydroponic towers and aeroponic towers. We refer to our towers as aeroponic towers and interchangeably as hydroponic towers.

Aeroponics is a type of hydroponics, such as deep water culture (DWC), aquaponics, ebb and flow, and the nutrient film technique (NFT). In other words, what is aeroponic is also hydroponic. This is why we sometimes refer to our towers as aeroponic towers or hydroponic towers—both are correct.

Now, back to growing parsley on hydroponic towers, which are, in this case, also aeroponic towers!

Growing Parsley from seeds:

It all starts with seeds! We prefer to work with organic certified seeds, but any quality seeds will work with our towers.

We put 6 parsley seeds per hole in trays of agricultural rock wool,, a soilless substrate commonly used in hydroponics and aeroponics.

A few days later, after the seeds have germinated and started to produce visible roots, we transplant the seedlings onto the tower using a grow clip, securing the plant in place.

Although parsley will be harvestable after 30 days, we advise letting it grow for 45 days for optimal plant size before harvest.

Hydroponic towers can grow up to 52 plants per square meter (10 ft.²).

Our hydroponic towers are modular and can accommodate up to 52 plants per tower. In other terms, you can grow up to 52 parsley plants per square meter (10 ft.²). Each bunch can vary in weight between 180 and 300 g (6 to 10.5 ounces) depending on the variety and growing conditions.

We grow curly parsley during the autumn and winter seasons since it is a cool weather variety.

We also grow flat-leaf parsley during the spring and summer months, since this plant is more adapted to hotter temperatures.

Furthermore, we invite you to watch the following video showing each step of growing parsley using our commercial-grade hydroponic towers. On a footnote, even when using a hydroponic tower for domestic use, although the tower is smaller, the same results can be expected in terms of crop quality and yield per parsley bunch:
